Prospective
Student
We invite you to experience the Nouvel difference
OUR MISSION
Nouvel Catholic Central High School is committed to
academic excellence guided by the beliefs of the Roman
Catholic Church. Centered on living the gospels of
Jesus, our school provides the best opportunities for
spiritual, academic, physical and social
development. With an enrollment of nearly 500
students, Nouvel is an institution of the parishes of
the greater Saginaw Community.
Founded in 1984, the school was named in the honor and
spirit of Jesuit Missionary Henri Nouvel. He was the
first white man to discover central Michigan. Father
Nouvel celebrated the first Mass in Michigan’s Lower
Peninsula on the banks of the Saginaw River at (what
is now) Ojibway Island on December 3, 1675. Ordained
as a priest in France and trained as a missionary in
Canada, Father Nouvel was called to proclaim the good
news of Christ and share his new life with Native
Americans who were the original settlers of our
community.
WELCOME
