The applicant must complete the application form in their own handwriting. Pick up an application in the Counseling Center, complete your part and get it back to your counselor in time to meet the deadline. This is a good scholarship for our students.

U of M CHAPTER OF SIGMA PHI EPSILON SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: April 21, 2008
This scholarship is called Balanced Man Scholarship. The scholarship is available to any male attending the University of Michigan in the fall of 2008. The applicant does not have to promise to join any fraternity in order to apply.

SAGINAW TOWNSHIP POLICE OFFICERS SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: April 25, 2008
The applicant for this scholarship must be planning on pursuing a career in the Criminal Justice Field. The applicant must write a one page essay entitled "Why I Am Interested In Criminal Justice".

The applicant must be planning on attending SVSU, a resident of the tri-city area, show leadership skills and show concern for others through involvement in community groups.

BAKER COLLEGE CAREER SCHOLARSHIPS Deadline: May 1, 2008
This scholarship has a value of $4800.00. At the entrance of the Counseling Center is a poster with "request for information" cards for this program.
ALPHA DELTA KAPPA, INTERNATIONAL HONORARY SORORITY FOR WOMEN EDUCATORS Deadline: May 1, 2008
The applicant for this scholarship must be planning on majoring in elementary, middle school or high school teaching. I believe this is available to both women and men.

ABELE MEMORIAL FUND LOAN/SCHOLARSHIP Deadline: May 15, 2008
This is a loan/scholarship. The person awarded this loan will have until graduation from college to repay the loan but must pay the interest on the loan during school. There are two letters of recommendation required; one by your parish pastor.

Citizens Bank Wealth Management has a number of loans available for students going to college in the fall of 2008. These loans are based on need.

ELKS ORATORICAL CONTEST
Although the organization is predominately a black fraternal organization, the oratorical contest is for any high school junior or senior.

DELTA COLLEGE COMMUNITY EXCELLENCE AWARD
See Mrs. Myles in the Campus Ministry office for an application. The college is looking for students who have performed service in their community that has made a difference.
SCHOOL SOUP SCHOLARSHIP SITE www.SchoolSoup.com is a scholarship website. The site should be free to you. They advertise having over 32 billion dollars in scholarships. NEVER PAY ANYONE ANYTHING FOR SCHOLARSHIP LIST OR FUNDS.

If you are considering playing competitive athletics at a Division I or II school, you must register with the NCAA. To do this, go to www.ncaaclearinghouse.net. Click on "Perspective Student-Athlete for additional information. It is recommended that you use the on-line registration rather than a paper copy. Each student should make it their responsibility to be knowledgeable regarding the NCAA regulations. Your Counseling Center has a copy of the regulations that will be changing from 2005 through 2008.
