Accounting II

Course Description

Students will reinforce accounting procedures previously learned and gain a broader understanding of the business activities needed for effective management.  The use of the microcomputers will be expanded in Accounting II.

Prerequisite:  Accounting I

Outcomes

The student will:

  • Be familiar with accounting terminology.

  • Understand advanced general, cost and managerial accounting principles and procedures.

  • Understand departmental records.

  • Know a voucher control system.

  • Know corporation organization, issuing stock, and declaring dividends.

  • Understand management accounting (budgeting).

Expectations

  • Come to class with text, workbook, and calculator.

  • Treat each other with respect.

  • Turn all work in on time--no late work accepted.

Contents

1st Quarter:  Chapters 1-5--automated business simulation after chapter 5.
2nd Quarter: Chapters 6-11.
3rd Quarter: Chapters 12-15--automated business simulation after chapter 14.
4th Quarter: Chapter 16-20.
