Students will assist
local elementary and junior high schools with special classroom assignments
and projects (tutoring, peer mentoring, teacher aid, etc.). Each co-op
will be supervised by a professional member of the teaching staff.
Students will be assigned to positions that will attempt to match their
talents, skills, and interests. Students will co-op Monday through
Thursday for a two hour block of time. On Fridays, students will be in a
classroom setting developing additional co-op related skills and resolving
issues they may be experiencing. Expectations are: to be a
productive team member within the classroom, regular attendance, daily journal
entries, evaluation paper at the end of the semester, some outside readings
and assignments. Students will receive one academic credit per semester
plus up to eight (8) Christian service hours per week.
