Students will take a
leadership role in assisting local parishes and parish schools with developing
and planning youth ministry, local youth retreats, and other special
projects. This is a unique opportunity for students to learn how to expand
their leadership skills within a community setting. Students will be assigned
to positions that will attempt to match their talents, skills, and interest.
Students will co-op Monday through Thursday for a two-hour block of time. On
Fridays, students will be in a classroom setting developing additional co-op
related skills and resolving issues they may be experiencing. Expectations
are: to provide a leadership role to the assigned project, regular
attendance, daily journal entries, evaluation paper at the end of the
semester, some outside readings and assignments. Students will receive one
academic credit per semester plus up to eight (8) Christian service hours per
week.
