Expectations:
Students are to
conduct themselves, others, and their surrounding with respect and
caring. Be prepared, curious, and studious.
Grading:
Tests and
Projects: 70% - 80% Quizzes and
Labs: 20% - 30%
The grading scale
may be modified slightly if circumstances require.
Tests and
Quizzes:
·
Most units will have one or
two tests. Be sure to get the help you need before the day of
the test. All tests will be announced ahead of time.
·
Quizzes on concepts will be
given periodically during each chapter. They will be significantly
shorter and more focused than tests. Quizzes may be either announced
or unannounced.
·
Quizzes or tests missed
because of an unexcused absence will not be made up.
·
Make up tests are generally
not offered.
Homework:
·
I do not check or grade
homework assignments. It is the student’s responsibility to do all that
is necessary to learn the material covered.
Extra Credit:
Extra credit problems will be included occasionally on tests, quizzes or
homework assignments. I do not create extra credit assignments
at any time to improve student's grades.
DO NOT ASK FOR
EXTRA CREDIT!
Basically:
Students do the work that is
needed to achieve the knowledge, intellect, wisdom, and grade desired.
Late work:
Students are responsible for
making up all missed work. If you are absent, it is your responsibility
to find out the missed assignments and turn them in on the new due
date. (You will have one extra day for each day missed.) If the
absence is pre-arranged, you are responsible to get the assignments
before the absence and turn them in the day you return.
Supplies:
A graphing calculator
Three ring binder and paper (including
graph paper at times)
Pencil or pen
(Pencils or erasable pens may be
preferred as mistakes can be easily erased.) |
