Assessment:
Total Point System. The total of all assignments, quizzes, tests,
papers will be added and the student's score will be divided by that
total. The resulting percentage will place the student on the Nouvel
grading scale. The semester grade is calculated by taking 40% of the
first quarter grade, 40% of second quarter, and 20% of the exam grade.
This is the grade which goes on your Nouvel grade transcript.
Journals:
Journals will be assigned from time to time. They are to be your
personal response to the topic. They are also to show that you are
developing a deeper understanding of the question or theme. These are
due one week before each grade collection (progress report, quarter or
semester grade.) They are to be between three fourths and one page in
length, typed, double spaced, readable 12 point font or smaller. No
handwritten journals accepted. Each is worth 20 points and a grading
scale will be provided. An example is shown on the other side of this
page. |
