Foundations of Catholic Morality

Mrs. Speaker

0.5 credit

Grade 11

This course will focus on the essential message of Christ's moral teaching, love of God and neighbor as oneself.  Our students live in a world of disenchantment, of boredom, of angst and of marginalization.  As a Catholic school religion teacher I am privileged to offer Jesus Christ and his message as the answer to many of my students who are searching for meaning, solidarity, social commitment and even religious experiences.  The teaching of the Catholic Church which is found in the Catechism of the Catholic Church will be included throughout this course.  My students have a responsibility to know what their church teaches, and I view it as my responsibility to present these truths clearly and fairly.
